After years of laughter and mischief in the circus, clown Rico is abruptly fired.
Times were changing, and the circus needed to reinvent itself to attract new audiences. Heartbroken and out of work, he leaves the big top where he lived so many adventures, taking only a trunk full of memories and his old clown suit.
In his solitude, he begins to remember his life in the circus — the smiles, the applause, his colleagues' performances. Rico realises that the real magic lies within himself.
